Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program also known as 4Ps is one of the program of the government that invest in the health and education of the poorest household which has a child aged 0 - 14 years old, including pregnant women. This program operates in 79 provinces covering 1,261 municipalities and 138 key cities in all 17 regions nationwide. The program has 3,014,586 registered households as of 27 June 2012.
This program is the same to the cash transfer scheme implemented in other developing countries. The program provides cash grants to beneficiaries provided that they comply with the set of condition required by the program. Pantawid Pamilya will help the poor family to send their children to school and provide their basic needs and proper nutrition. Also it helps to provide good nutrition to the pregnant women.
Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program is a helpful program to the needy individual but some beneficiaries are using it as their main source of income instead of looking a job for their additional income. And some politician are using it in their candidacy.
